I’ve always had nature embedded in me, whether it was my love for animals, or my wild spirit that chased waterfalls. Along with that came art. I’m someone who believes that life is art. Anything you create is art, including your days and your relationships; life itself. And my goodness the earth is definitely an art that never fails to amaze me. That is why my creations are so naturalistic, earthy, and vibrant. Because it is such a huge part of who I am and the life I am living along side God, who after all, is the best artist there is!
I started my art journey as soon as I could hold something to draw and color with. My absolutely favorite was to draw most of my childhood, then as I got older I am most intrigued by watercolor, charcoal pencils, and oil paints. However, I mostly use acrylic to create paintings at the moment(learning others on the side). I always was taking some kind of art class from elementary school and all through high school. I went to San Dieguito High School Academy which was specially built around arts, it had all kinds of classes from welding to woodworking to any kind of visual arts. Which I was blessed to be able to try all. That’s when I really started to get more into it. I went through a lot in high school years and never liked going to school. But the art classes in my schedule were the 2 hour portion from my day at school where I could sit by myself and tune into my world, let alone express myself. That was when my apprecitation for it really bloomed with a deeper understanding. It was definitely my refuge along with whatever time I could muster up outside in nature. My family was always telling me I should sell my art but I never really put that much thought or belief into it. When I moved to Kauai early April of 2021 I hadn’t painted in months, my creativity was not abundant to say the least. But after staying and soaking the place in, I was reminded of myself and my passions, I felt called more than ever to dive back into it. I owe a lot to my boyfriend at the time as well. He bought me paints when I didn’t have any money left in my bank account. That is how I came to selling my paintings here. The process of coming to the realization that this was something I wanted to share with the world and pursue.
